Man this week was so crazy! We drove down to the giant tiger in truro where I got to see elder Madsen again! And learned that he would have been in my district if I weren't leaving haha. Then we picked up a few more of the elders and drove to moncton to meet several other elders who were moving around (sorry I cant remember who all I saw RIP haha) but I got to stand on the snow pile where I was just 4 months earlier, it was still there haha. Then came elder fife and Scott with the truck, swapped places, and we headed to presque isle! The drive was pretty sweet! Really sunny. And we got to know eachother a little more, elder scott lives in Arizona, and loves to surf, so he drives down to California. He also loves trucks... now if you know about me, then you probably know my attitude about trucks and the inside joke I have with some of you. Long story short, all truck drivers are inherently bad drivers, and thus called (in the words of brother shaw) yankers. So this next transfer (or maybe sometime this transfer because the roads here are worse then Canada's and we have unfortunately got so many aggressive driving and speeding alerts that we may end up switching drivers rip) so sooner or later, I'll become the very thing I've sworn to destroy.
But you know what I'll do? Actually use the turn signal, not cut people off and be a good driver so I wont be a yanker. Check mate.
Also this area has the largest ward in the mission (as of now) so there is a lot of potential with member work! And as of now, we have taught 2 lessons and in the process got 2 people on date (or at least set a goal) for baptism! The first was a young man named Dallas (14-16) who has a younger brain, but wants to be baptized, and the other is another younger gentleman (25-30) named brandon! Both are super awesome and I cant wait to get to know them more! We are aiming for May 4th for their baptism so we will see how that goes!
It's also so crazy. I came Into the mission field 4 months ago, yesterday. And man time is flying! Especially now with all that's going on and may 4th will be here before I know it!
This area is also super windy which is way fun because there is a constant breeze and then all the sudden like 30-40 mph gales come and hit you and nearly push you over haha I've got a video that I'll try to attach. And no more then 3 weeks ago, this place got like 4 feet of snow and the snow banks use to be as tall as me! But the suns been out so a lot as melted haha
Also since it's in America, the land of the stars and stripes, and weed is illegal again, everything is also cheaper and tastier! Plus, we can get a box of 60 eggs for like 8 bucks. And what makes it even better, is that there are thrift stores everywhere! So it's time so see what kinda wacky stuff I can get haha.
But I'm also super excited for general conference! It's going to be absolutely amazing. And I've heard a lot of stuff, but we will see what happens haha.
We have also knocked a lot! We got like 26 hours of knocking this last week (including what they did with Elder fife and driving) but man my feet are sore! And we also got the cops called on us apparently too. One of the members saw a post on the police page that said something along the lines of a guy claiming to be mormon is harassing and forcing his religion on others in this area... and man how people can talk freely on the internet and change what ever they want because no one will ever know the other side of the story, or the truth for that matter. Plus it puts a bad picture on us and the church. And I'll say now that we aren't forcing anything, and we aren't harassing anyone haha.
Way good start of the transfer and it's only getting busier! There was a lot more that happened but this covers a solid chunk.
