Season 4 Episode 3: MLC, institute, more snow, and we actually cover 3 wards

So this morning we woke up to see snow falling and turning the world white, and it hasn't stopped. There's Canada for you I suppose.

But this week was similar to last weeks, lots of Facebook contacting and messaging, calling people from area book whether its members or formers.

During this week we had interviews in which I asked President Low if I could minister to the people in Maine and he said I could as long as I include the Hampton elders. Because they were covering that area during the covid19 situation. Which led me to ask if we covered more then one area, and he answered in the affirmative and told us that we cover the Halifax family ward, the Bridgewater ward and the Halifax YSA branch. So we have been calling more and having lessons more. Its super nice being more busy. And it's way fun to get to know people despite the limitations we've got. I hope to meet some of the people we've called!

Then I got to participate in my first MLC which was absolutely fantastic. It's like a second zone conference and it was cool to see all my homies, elder scott, and what's left of the MTC district, which is actually only elder Madsen sister Mavy and myself. But its super fun seeing more missionaries, even if it's over zoom. One of the points that I loved was the idea and principle of sacrifice. As we know, sacrifice brings forth the blessings of heaven, and it can really test faith. The example of Abraham and Issac. And at times we may receive a command not knowing why we must do it, even if it conflicts with a promised blessing like in Abraham's case. But Abraham obeyed. There's a quote by an apostle (I should know his name because of how many times I've heard it in the last month) but he is asked the question, why did Abraham have to be tried like that? And his response was, Abraham had to learn something about Abraham. And I loved that. Everyday in quarantine feels like a sacrifice, and we need to make sure that the time we use now is used in the right way. So lots of cool things are going to be happening in the near future here in the Maritimes. Plus we still have a couple bibles to give out from our ads and with the people we have to work with in Bridgewater, the work continues! Still slow and steady, but it's picking up.

District councils have been quite fun, especially when our whole district is within 10 minutes of each other and we borrow the same church so we have some fun leaving behind notes it's been quite fun haha. It is super cool to see elder Atkins step up his game because it's his last transfer. Which is sad, but then when he goes home, I can message him on pdays so yeet.
Still no official word on how many missionaries we are supposed to get, but we are helping the vehicle coordinator and transporting 8 new vehicles on top of the ones we already have. So at least 16 more for the maritimes Haha.

Hope you've enjoyed reading, there's not a whole lot of excitment nowadays, but when this gets over it's going to get pretty hype.

One last thought though. I was reading in Alma 5 and the spirit gave me an impression. "Your running out of time" and ever since then I've been somewhat anxious. Since elder Madsen and I came out at the same time we got talking about how we only have 7 months left. We also learned that nova Scotia isnt going to think about opening up until June. So odds are all of may will be in isolation. Which leaves 6 months left. I'll really only have 25% of my mission left after the covid19 lifts. Now I'm not complaining I'm just pointing out that time goes fast. And my time is running out and the service of God does have a timer. So I'm going to magnify my calling to the best I can, given the circumstances.
It's just odd to think that I have less time left on my mission then time I spent in Maine haha.
Anyways love you all and hope the best for y'all. Remember to read and pray. It's so very important.

Season 4 Episode 2: you get a bible and you get a bible, everybody gets a bible!

yeah so this week was significantly less eventful then last week. but the bible ads that we have been putting out have been boppin' so we've delivered a handful of them alongside copies of the Books of Mormons. (cuz they are free and we're like, you want another book about Jesus? and they're like "sure" so we give it to them and unknown to them is an article of faith card and a book of Mormon card. plus because it's through FB, we have one other way of contacting them again. So yeah. That's the peak of what we do nowadays. We also have some incredible studies and we just finished listening to a long talk about the dead sea scrolls so if you want another testimony about the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Saints listen to them! They are by Vern Mattson. But they are long. It's like a 7 part talk. But they are legit.
the work continues, we are just trying to figure out how to work it still. and because of zone conference, we are going to have some cool things happening too. so if yall could do me a favor and like the facebook page "The Church of Jesus Christ in the Atlantic Provinces" and invite your friend to like it!

We are also teaching a guy that has some intent, but likes reading anti. so hes great and fun to work with haha. but no need to worry. our personal studies are a good safty vest. and so can your personal studies! so read your Scriptures!

love you all!

Season 4 Episode 1: The One Where my Old Mission Becomes my Zone

Transfers is over it was quite a process and a lot of no sleep. Thursday started at 4:15 getting elder Hubbard to the airport and then me hopping with the zls to the Bedford apartment (the old aps apartment) so it's super niceeeee. 2 bathrooms again, but unfortunately no washer and dryer... so we'll get creative. But it's a big and super nice apartment. Its neat that I've lived in the 2 nicest apartments in the whole mission (*knock on wood)

Then after that we dropped off elder Atkins at the clayton park apt 5 minutes away, then studied and took a walk until 9:20 where we picked up 3 elders from the airport and all there stuff in one vehicle (because I can't drive lol) but fortunately I'm great at tetris so it wasn't a problem. We were definitely heavy though haha. Then the following morning , after getting back at around 11:30 slept a couple hours before getting up at 3:30 to drop off elder musgrave at the airport so he could fly home. So that was a exhausting day. And it wasn't even over because we had to drop of the moncton elders off at the bus stop in downtown Halifax. And I dont remember the rest of that day.

Friday came around and we got the whitewash stuff mostly figured out fortunately because we are inna ysa branch, there's not a lot to work out. Saturday was nice got to add a couple of the people that were being taught and got a couple conversations going. So slowly but surely. Definitely the easiest whitewash I've done haha. Sunday was nice. Didn't really do anything and nothing exciting happened for Easter so it just felt like a regular day haha.

Our daily activities consist of fb contacting family history and soon to be teaching lessons, going for walks, and trying to get creative haha.

And along with transfers and losing so many missionaries, the provinces of Newfoundland, new Brunswick, and nova Scotia, (the original Halifax mission) is now my zone haha. So it's a little weird.

In other news, if you want to send me stuff here's my address!
505 parkland dr. apt. 208 Bedford ns b3s 1k7

But yeah! Zone conference is tomorrow so that's way pday is today! Anyways love you all and hope all is well in your places and you aren't too bored. Be sure with the extra time to read and pray.

Season 3 Episode 18: Season Finale

The Thrill of Sackville's last episode. and what better way to end this season than to turn 20 and have general conference?

and it was absolutely legendary. both an unforgettable conference and birthday. unforgettable birthday because it took place on this unforgettable conference, and unforgettable conference because of the hype train that it started. So before reading the rest of this letter, if you haven't watched general conference, watch a bit of if for me please!! Because of the blessings of Facebook, someone created an april 10 fast group, which started pretty sketchy with a bunch of haters, but I think by now it's all good and there are so many people from other regions and religions joining it's so solid. plus the miracles that it started pretty much everywhere. now we didn't have a lot of friends to watch it to start with, but those who did watch it said that it was incredible. one such person has been a guy that we have been wanting to teach for a really long time (reason being that he has watch the past couple conferences) and little by little, he joined the personal finance group that they church started (and we participated (i am learning how to use moneys yay)) and then slowly got to know him and then he watched conference and i think this one changed him. time will tell. I'm excited for him! His name is Russ, and truth be told, he lives in bedford's area (pretty much on the border of our area) but because he is in contact with a handful of members in sackville, we would technically teach him when he's ready. but here's the cool stuff: the transfer table came out and as you probably gathered from the title, this season is ending, and I'm getting transferred! My next area is BEDFORD. A good old 15 minutes away! haha i unfortunately am not in the same district ;-;.

but here's the cool and potentially stress. I'm whitewashing in with Elder Madsen! we were in the same dorm room in the MTC and came out together! so that's hype. Elder Atkins was there with Elder sousa from peru i think... and because hes foreign got sent home, and then elder atkins went to clayton park to be a zone leader with his greenie elder albertson (he trained him back in the day) and is in my district (though i'm not the district leader haha) so this transfer is going to bump.

Granted i am so sad to leave. As is the case with all my areas (maybe not as sad as PI, sorry sackville) because there are so many homies here too! so shout out to the Murphys, Fox's, maclennan's mackinnons+chapman's, brother mugga and whynaught. as well as John and Johnathan. such great people. I can't wait to come back and see them all again.

but yeah. so many wonderful souls. I love them all. this last week has been the best week in isolation so far and its only going to get better (or maybe not because what can top conference?) nonetheless! it will be good because I said so.

love you all and hope you enjoyed reading! enjoy fasting on the 10th! because i'm going to! remember to read and pray, and to ponder the talks given!
