Season 3 Episode 12: Transfers :O

Indeed transfers! And we are both staying for a 3rd transfer in Sackville!

But yeah let's see the week!

Wednesday we taught a gospel discussion for english connect and thanks to some slow wifi I got to describe what happened in a video. So that stretched my ability to think and help boost my acting skills! The video that was shared was called discovering truth and it has to do with a bunch of blind guys finding and elephant and touching parts of it and describing what an elephant is based on the thing they touched. So one described an elephant as a sturdy tree (leg) another a spear (tusks) etc. And then they all had a argument on what a elephant was and they were all right, but not all 100% right. So that was fun to explain. But its true! To find truth you have to go to each part of the elephant just like the gospel in the sense of finding answers and praying (praying helps a lot)

We also taught bruce and saundra again as well as John. We also got in contact with betty and she is doing well again!

We also had a dinner appointment with the wrights and they are an awesome family. Bro biggley (an awesome rm) got engaged to one of their daughters and he and the father make quite the hilarious group haha. That day we also found a Bulgarian master sculptor and he showed us his workshop! Hes is insane. I told him about my pottery skills and he was somewhat amused haha. But he told us we where welcome back anytime! So once we get a bulgarian book of Mormon well head back!

Those are some of the highlights! Sorry there's not a lot! Haha love and miss you all!

P.s this is last weeks I keep forgetting to click send...

Season 3 Episode 11: The Sackville Snow Days

We had quite the service and contacting filled week! but here are some of the highlights! kinda working backwards:

the community of Sackville had a bunch of events where a lot of people came so, we took it as an opportunity to both volunteer and street contact. unfortunately no one was interested, but it was great practice for Elder Rougeau haha.

during such service we were able to help barrace streets for a parade (that was the shortest parade i've ever seen like 5 different things and that was it haha and really only 1 float)) but that was fun! we ran into John while helping out so that was neat!

The day before (Sunday) there was a firework show and we got to talk to many people then as well! there was also Aiden's farewell talk because he is going to the washington DC west mission and left early this morning!

then  the day before that, Saturday, there was a free lunch and museum tour and we talked with a few people there as well, but for the most part it was a bunch of older people that cant hear haha. Aiden had a farewell party and we went to a bit of that talked with his family and a couple of his friends and then went to go teach John!

Then on valentine's day we found a couple to teach! so that was really neat! we couldn't remember what the wife's name was, but we also met Bruce! it was kinda fun, because we first talked with the wife and she had met with missionaries in the past but not from here, and became not interested becasue of our views towards same sex attraction and what not, and then we got onto a differnet topic and she mockingly called her husband saying "these people belive in this!... did you hear that they believe this..." so he eventually came down and told us he was an atheist and I had the most awesome discussion with him. elder Rougeau talked with the wife while i talked to Bruce and we talked for probably 45 minutes about a wide spread of topics from evolution (which I wrecked his views on), Moses (at one point he picked up a bible and read it from genesis to exodus and he stopped and has many questions about why moses killed so many people...) so we talked a while for that, then the book of Mormon and convincing evidence it is, and then the witnesses and my testimony of its truth, then miracles, it went on and it was awesome. needless to say, we are meeting again on Saturday!

we have also had some good contact with Dee. shes doing ok and is struggling financially and is bouncing from place to place so we haven't had any solid lessons again yet! we are meeting with betty on wednesday and we are pumped for that!

there was also a solid family history mutual event going on that we went to and one of the guys we have been wanting to contact since christmas came! his name is russ and he had got the spirit of elijah tell you what! so we are going to try to set up some times to help him out! also on wednesday we had our last district council and man this district is so solid. everyone just worked so very hard and  has been blessed for it incredibly. it's so cool! it's been an awesome privilege to be a head in this district.

but those are pretty much the highlights! I hope you've enjoyed reading! I love and miss you all and hope you all are doing fantastic! remember to read your scriptures and pray! it will make it even more fantastic!

Season 3 Episode 10: Exchanges and Good Things.

what a week we had! the wednesday after last p-day we had a wonderful district council. the sisters are such diligent and consecrated missionaries. it makes my duties a heck'n lot easier. then the trainings that are put forth are an excellent example of the growth that has been made. so district councils have just been super cool.

the week was full of different kinds of finding and teaching slowly building up the teaching pool with very slow success haha. but the people we are working with are all doing great! john is still doing great but man, he is a tricky guy! after our discussion on the holy ghost this last week (and finding scriptures in one chapter about the holy ghost is rather difficult with the book of mormon ive found haha) and we discovered that he really doesn't know anything, he asked about what happens after death, and it seems that he's got quite the problem with memory loss. but that hasn't stopped him from being a super nice guy and still meeting with us. so slowly and clearly with plenty of questions seems to be the way.

then by the time friday rolled around, we did quite a bit of service shoveling snow, food bank service and stacking wood! so that was a nice break from the regular stuffs.  Then that night traveled to clayton park (closer to downtown Halifax) for exchanges! which was a blast!

I was with Elder Albertson for the whole day and we taught a super cool older black guy with the best accent ever! we went over the come follow me for families with him and hearing him read was one of the coolest things! then we tried to go see a boat show, but unfortunately it cost money so we bailed on that haha. so we went and tried to swing by some les active members and ended up finding 2 ladys and talked with them about the book of mormon and they accepted copies and invitations to hear from the sister missionaries! (zl and stl's are in the sam-ish area) then towards the end of the night, we got to street contact in downtown halifax! and downtown Halifax is probably 20% of new york city so plenty of people to talk to, yet more parking and less cars! so it was kinda nice not gonna lie. so we had a couple interesting encounters. mostly with people finishing their joint or cigarette and heading into bars, but we did hand out quite a few cards and a book of mormon to a muslim lady! then before 9 we had an exchange review at the church where we met with Elder Hsu and Rougeau who when to sports night and i got to see Elder Atkins for a bit too haha then we headed back home!

Sunday came around and it was a pretty solid service John came again, and got to mingle with more of the members and got to see Betty! she was very thankful for the Bible and the Book of Mormon so we are excited to see what she thinks and the questions she'll have!

then monday was good! we got to research a bit on the sackville snow days and we are going to try to go to as many events as we can or even help out with the whole thing! we also got to do a far share of knocking that day too haha

And that lead to today! the thing ill comment on is that we are going to a sushi bar so that will be interesting!
Anyways love you all and hope you enjoyed this email! remember to read your scriptures and pray! love being a missionary and being able to spread the wonderful news of Jesus Christ.

Season 3 Episode 9: Another Reunion, Double Trouble, and Repentance

Yes so there was quite a reunion at zone conference. Elder Scott and Elder Atkins where there and man was it a time. And I've got the one up on both of them because I stayed the same amount of time as they both did (they both stayed 3 transfers and I stayed 6 haha) so we were talking about the great things that went on and the greatness that occurred. we'll forever be the PI boiz (plus elder fife but he wasn't there)

zone conference was super great on top of Elder scott and atkins being there we got to discuss planning a LOT. And man I've got some repenting to do and it's almost done haha. so i'm including these things i've learned in hopes that maybe others can also improve there own planning, but it includes having a vision (for personal goals, companion goals, and the people you teach, etc.) goals that will help achieve the vision, and then plans to accomplish the goals. (previously I was just putting out goals and that was pretty much it) and i got to say having visions for my own goals and the people we are working with makes goal setting easier and focused. So yeah! if your not doing it this way try it out!

We also talked about a restoration initiative and teaching the first vision and getting members to be hyped for general conference and then before conference, have shared it with others. so that's what have have been doing with members recently and its quite fun! the way that we have done it is to actually practice teaching the restoration, show the video and then extend the invitation so we get practice and they get noted.

but yeah this week as gone by quick! we taught english connect wednesday and that is always fun! and then we had our first official lesson with Dee! and it was incredible. we brought brother ludlow (a solid member) and he had the same upbringing and skepticism towards religion as Dee. and that was a miracle. the lesson was just full of the spirit and was honestly one of the coolest lessons ive had. we hardly taught the restoration, but we answer many questions and shared many experiences. then after the lesson towards the evening she messaged us and thanked us for the lesson and then the next day found some anti. fortunately we are still solid with her and will have another discussion soon!

Betty is also on the slow recovery. she's heading to the dr's again this week but shes doing well!
we also had interviews and those are always great. and president Low shared a solid snip-it. (I asked him and commended him on his transfer revelation because I could see God's hand in many of the new assignments, and he shared that he now understands the smallest fraction of what joseph smith felt when he translated the plates. and hearing that I was just in awe. I heckn love president low.
then zone conference! and that was lit.backing up a bit, we actually picked up elder brown and lettermen thursday morning and they did some work for us in sackville for 2 full days! (they had their flight back to corner brook at 9). so it was great to see the both of them again!
Saturday was our planning day and we did quite a bit of changing so that was almost the day haha.
Sunday was great! some of the coolest members blessed their baby. we also had a stellar lesson with John!
Monday was quite the loop. during our daily contact i felt inspired to call brother whynaught (we are helping him get his patriarchal blessing) and he picked up the phone and told us that he can't move his legs and was in a lot of pain. so we went over quickly to see what was up and then ended up helping im out for quite some time. We called his fellowshipper and he came to help us out too. he should be fine now! we also helped stack wood too. so that was quite a service filled day!

But yeah! those are the highlights for this week! hope your week was as good as mine! and it can be if your read your scriptures and pray!
Love you all and hope this coming week is a great one for you!!
