Honestly I didn't know it could get better. The spirit from the baptism straight up followed us into this week. We had a misison tour with elder McCune, one of the 70 come via video call and speak with us and it was so incredible. The spirit was super intense and what was said was so needed and so inspired. But this was not a regular mission tour. Usually they are like a zone conference and take pretty much all day with a lunch break. But the day before it started, we got a message from president the evening before saying that it was being changed! So instead of having it all day one day (for each zone), it would be mission wide (including all zones) over 3 days it being 2 hours each morning. And while we had the first meeting, elder McCune was in the meeting room next to the council room of the 70 in salt lake, and was telling us that this is the first mission tour that has ever been done this way (it being over 3 days, mission wide) and all future mission tours would be done like this. It's so cool to see the changes being done to missionary work.
And let me tell ya, this was straight inspired and the format was so much better because he left us Invitations after every session, and we'd have the rest of the day to complete these before the next day! It reminds me of when Jesus visits the nephites and he ministers, leaves them to ponder the things he taught, and then comes back, teaches leaves them to ponder, and then comes again teaches etc. I sincerely believe that this format is inspired. Which is another testimony to me that this church is true. We talked about many things on how to improve the work and work with members, and then there were 2 other meetings that elder Noad and I got to go to, one that was specific to social media specialists where we basically told him we found works in finding online, and that was super fun because he just talked with us for the first 20 minutes haha and he shared a couple things and his interactions with president Nelson and what he said about him strengthened my testimony that President Nelson is a prophet of God. I so want to meet him one day. Then the second meeting we went to (the following day) was specific to district leaders and their comps, and it he got to know us for the first 20 minutes again which was super fun and it was basically a boosting session where we got commended for our service and important role we play as well as a reminding session for things that we need to make sure we keep doing. And the way walked away from that meeting, the spirit instructed me to do a couple of things not mentioned. So I'm excited to conduct these next few district councils!!
Then we had a handful of invitations that we accepted over the course of the 3 days which we worked diligently to fulfill, but even agency has its tricky spots. Nonetheless we were blessed significantly.
And here are a couple highlights:
We are chosen to serve here and now for a reason. We have exclusive assignments and callings.
We are all helping walk each other home.
Knocking is finished. God has been frustrated that missionaries knock when there are better ways to find, its members! So stop knocking. God gave us this pandemic to stop us from knocking. Don't. Go. Back. We are moving forward. Not. Back.
We also had another Nane (north American north east) mission conference and our mission (the good old CMM) was highlighted!! So each sms team in our mission got to introduce ourselves share what we liked about Canada, and then share what we do on our facebook pages and we got to share about the ad that we made that got 62 message conversations in a week. It was such a spiritual experience because the leaders where like, yo do this with your pages too, and other shared things like working with mission leadership, balancing time etc. It was quite an edifying meeting.
Then the other days were planning days and figuring out how and what to integrate into our work we also had an assignment from president Low to do a devotional on Sunday night to share how to use Instagram, so after a couple of other meetings throughout this and last week we came up with 3 principles to improve and find on Instagram, and I can't 100% remember what they all were, email me for the details, but ours was called the steak principle, and it was to be a medium rare, not raw, not well done missionary in our interactions. So don't be fake, share experiences with the spirit, and build relationships with those you talk with and gain that trust then share the gospel (the way its turned out is when you get to know them, they'll ask about you and there ye go)
So that devo was a spirit bomb. Then monday was full of meetings with president, who loved the devo and asked us what we can do to follow up so the devo is remembered and integrated so we counciled on that which was so awesome.
Sorry if I'm saying awesome or spirit filled so much I really dont know how else to describe it haha
But yeah the spirit of God like a fire is burning. The Lord is hastening his work. This is a unique time to serve, past prophets have jealously looked at our day and the events that are happening now! The Lord doesn't un-hasten his work. No scriptures say that. So buckle up! We're in for a ride.
Love you all. Read your scriptures, they'll give you ideas on how to participle in this work.
The spirit is real. And His presence truly can be with us! Especially to all members who are entitled to His companionship.
Again love you all. And hope you felt some impressions come to you, follow them! They are good!!
